MacMetrics — 30-Second Install Guide
====================================

We're a small indie shop — Apple notarization is on the roadmap. Until then, this is the 30-second way in.

HOW TO INSTALL
--------------
1. Open the downloaded .zip file
2. Double-click "Install & Fix MacMetrics" — it moves the app to Applications, clears the macOS security flag, and opens it
3. Done — look for MacMetrics in your menu bar

TROUBLESHOOTING FALLBACK
------------------------
Still seeing a warning? Right-click MacMetrics.app -> Open -> Open. macOS shows this for apps downloaded outside the App Store that aren't notarized yet — the app is safe.

WHAT DOES "INSTALL & FIX MACMETRICS" ACTUALLY DO?
-------------------------------------------------
For developers who like to know what runs on their machine, here is the exact sequence executed by "Install & Fix MacMetrics.command":

  a. Copies MacMetrics.app to /Applications (`rm -rf "/Applications/MacMetrics.app"` and `cp -R "$DIR/MacMetrics.app" "/Applications/MacMetrics.app"`)
  b. `xattr -cr` — removes the download quarantine flag macOS puts on internet downloads (`xattr -cr "/Applications/MacMetrics.app"`)
  c. `codesign --force --deep --sign -` — re-signs the app locally (ad-hoc) so macOS accepts the bundle (`codesign --force --deep --sign - "/Applications/MacMetrics.app"`)
  d. Launches the app (`open "/Applications/MacMetrics.app"`)
  e. Nothing else. No network calls, no system changes. Read the script yourself — it's plain zsh.
